Washington State is located in the Northwest Corner of the contiguous United states and Seattle, the largest city in Washington, is the transportation and commerce hub for the state. Located between the eastern edge of Puget Sound and Lake Washington, Seattle offers majestic views of Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. SeaTac International Airport, located midway between Seattle and Tacoma, is the area's air connection to the rest of the world. Interstate Highway 5 running from north to south and Interstate Highway 405 running from east to west are the main ground links to the rest of North America. Washington State Ferries connects Seattle to cities and towns throughout Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands. Regularly scheduled ferries, seaplanes and airlines connect Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver Island and Vancouver on British Columbia's lower mainland area.
